You might be here because something isn't sitting right.
You may be struggling with anxiety, self-esteem, or your relationship with food, feeling stuck in patterns that are hard to shift, even when you understand them logically.
Or you may be here because you’re worried about your child or teenager. Perhaps you’ve noticed changes in their mood, confidence, or eating, and you’re unsure what’s normal, what’s not, or how best to help.
You don’t need to be in crisis to come to counselling. Often people come because they’re tired of managing on their own.
This is a space away from family and friends, where your experience and perspective is front and centre.
About me…
I’m Charlotte, a real person first, and a counsellor second.
My qualifications and experience matter, but I don’t believe change happens through techniques alone. It happens when someone feels safe enough to be honest, and not judged or rushed.
I work in a way that is calm, consistent, and focused on building trust.
Sessions aren’t rushed, and there’s no pressure to say things in the “right” way. You’re alllowed to take your time, pause, or not know what you’re feeling yet. We’ll work things through together, at a pace that feels manageable.
Children & Young People
I specialise in working with children and young people, using age-appropriate, creative and play-based approaches to help them express what can be hard to put into words.
Who I Work With
Adults
I also have particular experience supporting people of all ages with eating difficulties and disorders, as well as working with adults around anxiety, self-esteem, and emotional wellbeing.
This might include…
Young people experiencing difficulties with food, body image, or control.
Children and young people who feel overwhelmed, anxious, shut down, or struggling to express what’s going on for them.
Parents who are concerned about their child’s emotional wellbeing or eating, and unsure what support would be most helpful.
Adults who feel stuck in cycles of anxiety, low self-worth, or self-criticism.
Adults experiencing eating difficulties or disordered patterns around food.
The Caravan
I conduct my face to face counselling sessions from the comfort of a cosy, welcoming caravan located in Copmanthorpe, York. The beauty of this space means that it offers a home from home feel which can help make you feel at ease.
With cushions, blankets, hot drinks and easy access to the nature outside, it’s the perfect place to reflect on your feelings.
